If you are a developer plugin WordPress, of thème WordPress, or simply blogger, get yourself a USB key and install Instant WordPress.
Ahlalalala that's the kind of news I like to share.
Today, if you want to test or use WordPress locally, you must first:
- installing PHP
- installing Apache
- installing mySQL
- WordPress installer
- configure everything as you can

3 seconds after ... tada !
The only weird thing with me is that despite Chrome default browser, it opens Internet Explorer when I click on these links. But good. It's great anyway. Without a trace on your computer, you have one click of a full version of WordPress, with lots of articles and images. Wholesale, you turn your machine server development WordPress, in a click.

An article with all the elements in
To you then play with it all. You can test all your local developments before moving your files online. The nice thing, is that you can have as many installations of this type that you want, ù to the extent you can duplicate and rename the file at will.
Note however that this version is not designed to be installed on the net.
I already know that I will use this tool to test my next themes… I will even install it direct Dropbox. And you ?

Thanks for the great review! Excuse my writing in English but mon français n’est pas très bon.
On the links only opening in Internet Explorer, the IWP system is designed to do that as it uses a GUI based on IE for the IWP Control Panel.
If you wish to use another browser, simply click on the Copy WordPress URL to Clipboard button. This will put the WordPress address into the clipboard where it can be copied and pasted into the address box of your favourite browser.
Hope that helps!

Hi
I am totally novice. There are only two weeks I am interested in WordPress with a view to create a blog. Is it possible, after all the adjustments that will be made with InstantWordpress, to transfer all (settings including)in a hosting?

Hello Ranque.
Everything can be effectively transferred to a host. It will export your mySQL database, to return to your host, and copy the wordpress directory on your server. Finally, Just change the config.php file for your blog go to type in the correct database.

Thank you, Mathieu
I do not get much to all (mySQL, edit the file php, and so on.). But at least, you put me on the right track. Time for me to make all my settings. Whereupon, I would try to understand this.
I read somewhere on this blog you were looking to change theme. I think it is great and it will still keep a good time. I even wanted to know how it is called and where can we get it. Thank you again. Discover this blog was a good chance for me. I regale me. See you soon.

Thank you for the comment, Ranque, I'm glad, really. The theme I used is called Sight, It is free and downloadable here : http://wpshower.com/themes/sight/
For mySQL, etc.…, You verras, ça va be. It's true that in the early galley is a bit, but by learning from mistakes, it moves faster. If you have a concern, hesitate to contact me we will see what we can do together.

Hello,
I created a blog with Word Press, but I'd like to use Instant WP to have a local version and to my tests it.
However, I do not understand how to get the source of my blog to work locally.
I can easily access via ftp to my sources but I doubt that a simple “copier coller” sources local to my work…
Thank you for helping me on this topic ! :)

WE, it's a little tense to respond quickly like that. Overall:
1) you get the content of your blog on your FTP and you put it in the iwpserver htdocs wordpress(except wp-config.php) The InstantWP. As, is the first part. Then,
2) you go to your phpmyadmin online site and you retrieve your basic SQL (there is a simple export function in phpmyadmin). Then you re-import the MySQL admin instantWP (accessible via http://127.0.0.1:4001/phpmyadmin/) : http://imgur.com/QiqqN (in a database named “WordPress”)
Normally, everything should be fine. If there is a concern, the problem may be the prefix of your database that is not the one expected by InstantWP (wp_ default). In this case, modifies the file wp-config.php InstantWP (dance iwpserver htdocs wordpress) line 62 to put the correct prefix.

No it is simple, cons but once everything is configured locally, it is rather complex to migrate all online.

Good evening, very interested in what you present : J have a few questions! …
I'm doing the research in modeling , s files accumulate and I do not really remember what mnemonic ! My idea : create an electronic lab notebook to local aid ‘a wordpress blog that would allow me to aggregate all my files to a single, portable and work done on it for easy use when writing to a public. For legal reasons I think I can not publish this site to access the internet and I'm gonna keep it locally but I would like to access it easily using a USB key or portable hard drive backup regularly. The ideal would be a drop box or via backup with SugarSync password. Have the impression that J c is feasible in light of what I've read on the net and what I just read above. Does this sounds achievable ? In the case of a site on the internet is there way to avoid referencing by search engines and be sure to be virtually the only access my data via login and password?
Thank you for advance of your interest to my (many) questions ….

Salut Nath,
Yes, feasible, I use WP for my part time on my Dropbox. Otherwise, WordPress installation online without referencing on search engines is also an option envisgeable, régleant in the parameter “Ask search engines not to index this site.” Settings> Privacy. You can also restrict access to password-sections.

Thank you very much for your quick response. I will try to launch. You have everything in Dropbox installs instantwp and files or just the files in the database.
Thank you again
Nath
